Assessments for ADHD

I offer assessments for ADHD (including ‘ADD’ - inattentive type) for both adults and children.

I use tools and methodology which are recommended in NICE guidance and use the same methods in private practice as when in my NHS role. I work as a sole clinician but have multi- disciplinary colleagues with whom I can consult if needed.

I can provide more information upon request but the process involves a clinical interview with the adult individual or parents of the child using relevant, accredited tools including the DIVA and ACE. It can often be the case that peoples’ needs are complex and many other needs can appear as if ADHD (for example, traumatic experiences, issues experienced in childhood, menopause, anxiety etc). As a clinical psychologist, I am trained and experienced in understanding how different needs can interplay, crossover, and mask each other and am able to provide clarity and make relevant recommendations based on this.

I provide a full report with diagnosis (where applicable), relevant recommendations whether a diagnosis is made or not and can offer subsequent follow up support if required including school or workplace liaison, couples or individual support and work relating to ‘reasonable adjustments’. Individual requirements can be discussed during or subsequent to the assessment.

*Please note, in the event of an ADHD diagnosis, as a psychologist, I do not prescribe medication but can provide details of prescriber colleagues if needed.
